The Finishing "TO DO" List:

One thing Justin and I agree on is to finish the main floor 100% before moving on to the next set of renovations.  We know that whatever we leave behind will most likely NOT get finished and that is NOT okay.

With just a few things left on the list, this post will serve as a reminder as well as a flame under my buttocks to get these things done.  Oh! and I love lists. :]

1.  Paint and cover hall light switch plate.
2.  Purchase and install oven hood
3.  Finish Garage door trimmings
4.  Apply backsplash over above sink light drywall
5.  Nail in the board on the kitchen side of the kitchen/dining doorway
6.  Fix wall damage next to fridge
7.  Paint chip on mantle
8.  Regrout fireplace tile and paint the insideof the fire place black
9.  Stain closet door and reattach door handle
10. Purchase and install undercabinet lighting

With these things complete, we I will be ready for the big upstairs renovation.  :]

HEEERRREEE WEEEE GOOOOOOO!!!

2011.

Hope you all had a great New Year!  We sure did! We had the privilege of hosting some of my most favorite people in the world, my wonderful EWU friends, Mat and Lindsey Woody!  We had a blast doing a whole lot a nuthin and eating and drinking a whole lot!  :]  They are very special to me and hubbo and I am so happy I got to ring in the new year with them!

Its exciting to start another year but also sad for me.  2010 went by in a flash and I'm left trying to remember what happened!  After taking down all our Christmas decor I had a brief moment of depression that was uplifted with my hubby reminding me of all the fun things in store for us the next twelve months!

Justin and I are super duper excited for the projects in store for casa Dobson.  We are putting all the finishing touches on the main floor then we will hike up our britches and get ready to move on up to the top floor!

The upstairs brings two more bedrooms and a master bath and it looks a little something like this.

 Stairway
 Master Bed & Bath
Guest Room #3
Scary.  I know.

Buuuuuutttt! With a complete kitchen and bathroom remodel behind us, I think we will have no problemo transforming the upstairs to be just as wonderful as we think our first floor is.

2011.  Bring. It. On.

Christmas Recap

Well, I sorta dropped the ball on days 9-12...  WHOOPS!  You can't blame me!  I was a busy busy chick working, and helping with a basketball tournament and doin all the last minute Christmas things that ladies do.

My 12 Days of Christmas posts were mostly related to the Hallmark, corporate side of the Christmas Holiday but one thing we can NEVER forget is the TRUE reason for the season.

We were blessed beyond belief this holiday season!  GOD IS SO GOOD!  SO SO SO GOOD!  He has put so many wonderful people in our life and so many great opportunities in our path.  He is so faithful and SO awesome and I feel so humbled and blessed to know him.  Thank you God for your son, his sacrafice and your infinite love and compassion.

I hope you all had a very Merry CHRISTmas!

12 Days of Christmas: DAY EIGHT

Every year the company I work at chooses an organization to donate to.  This year they accepted my suggestion and we worked all November and December to raise money and supplies needed to help the Pediatric Interim Care Center (PICC).

The Pediatric Interim Care center is a safe, comfortable place where drug induced infants go through their withdrawl and are given a fresh start in life.  It is an "in between hopsital and home" care facility that specializes in caring for these little ones.

I was blessed to be the organizer and overseer of all things charity this holiday season at work :]  I had a wonderful support team in my fellow Christmas Committe partners and were successful in raising over $10,000 in funds and supplies the PICC needed.  I had done a fundraising project for this organization in high school and was excited to get to work with them again!

Earlier today, we got to go deliver the goods and get a tour of the center.  The Director was so estactic at the donation and couldn't believe we did this for them.  We walked around the facility and met many little ones that have already dealt with more than I have in my 24 years of life. It was a blessing and so wonderful to help such a deserving group of people!

12 Days of Christmas: DAY SEVEN

I Love the little town I live in!  I love it soooooo much and especially much during Christmastime because there are so many great activites for families to enjoy!

The first fun thing is the Old Cannery Bridge Lighting.  The day after Thanksgiving, The Old Cannery and the bridge connecting it to downtown Sumner are lit up to commemorate the beginning of the season.

The Windmill Gardens also lights up for the month of December.  Here, you can find all your holiday poinsettias, tell santa what you want for Christmas and have a nice lunch!

This sign aint lyin!  You can find Santa EVERYWHERE in Sumner, The Old Cannery, Windmill Gardens and you can even find him coming down your own street!
SEE?!

The annual Santa Parade is a festive spectacle with cute floats that make their way down main street!

And just because Santa can't get enough, he makes his way through town again going up and down EVERY street stopping and treating kids to candy canes and photo opps.  I got a quick silly cell phone picture.  Santa has to be escorted by the local Fire Department :]

Juuuuuuuuuust missed him - POOP! :(

12 Days of Christmas: DAY FIVE

One of my favorite things is the theatre and this holiday season I was able to attend two great plays!

Earlier this month, in celebration of my little sissy birthday, The family and I went to go see "It's a Wonderful Life" at Sumner High School, performed by Sumner Mainstage Theatre :] They did a great job and it was a lot of fun!  After that, we went to dinner at Mama Stortini's and had an amazing Itallian feast!

This past Friday, I enjoyed another play with my family called "Scrooge".  It was GREAT! The sets were fantastic and the actors were very talented!  The Play was held at the Champions Center in Tacoma and the actors were all memebers of the church... Pretty impressive :]  We weren'r allowed to take pictures : ( BOO!

What special Holiday events to you attend?
