2nd Annual UWT Christmas Party

Last year my girlfriend Sarah hosted a UWT Christmas White Elephant Party.   We decided to do it again this year and we had so much fun! I am a couple weeks late on posting but oh well.  The holidays are such a busy time!

This year we co-hosted with me providing the decorated space and Sarah brought all the food!  I was a bit under the weather and obviously pregnant so it was nice and likely most sanitary to have her take care of all the food prep.  I also stole all the pictures from her for this post so all credit goes to her! =]

I used my same decorations as last year with just a few tweaks.  I tried to again go with a more vintage look by using my grandparents old decor and adding some pieces of my own!

We also pulled out some of my vintage dishware to give it more of a fancy/vintage vibe.

These dishes are from my grandma on my step-moms side...

as well as these glasses.

I even wore my vintage apron, a gift from my mother in law!

Sarah made the menu super easy yet extremely tasty!  The meat and cheese platter was paired perfectly with grain crackers and bread.

The pickles, almonds and grapes added the sweet/sour touch...

and these little piggies were amazing!

Her rice crispy treats are to die for!  I don't know what she does, but they are amazing!

These tasty treats are amazing as well.  What really makes them is the chopped candy cane on top.

Aunt Teashia requested a photo with the pregnant lady, this girls makes me laugh SO hard!

I wish I would have gotten more people photos, but when you are hosting, you forget to do things like that!

We also had a white elephant gift exchange and I ended up with these gorgeous vintage clip on earrings!  Love them soo much!

Looking forward to next year!!!

Christmas Round 1!

I hosted my first Christmas this year!  I hosted my dad's side and with a total of 6, it was easy and a lot of fun!  Justin and I had the morning to ourselves so I made breakfast and we finished up the last cleaning/food prep details before my parents, grandpa and brother showed up.

We cooked a turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, crescent rolls and introduce this side of the family to spaetzle, a German pasta that you serve with gravy and meat.  It's amazing!

Again I didn't get a ton of photos because of my hosting duties but I did manage to get a few.

Here is our pretty tree with all the loot underneath!

And here are some action present opening shots! =]

Of course I had to get a picture of  my sweet hubby!

It was a great low key day.  We get to celebrate again this Saturday with my moms side!  Looking forward to more festive holiday time!  I'm not quite ready for it to be over!

Seattle Christmas Symphony

I wanted to catch you up on some of the festive activities going on in our lives this Christmas season!

A little over a week ago, I joined my dad and step-mom in watching the Seattle Symphony Christmas concert. It was really fun and I left in awe at how beautiful each song sounded. It definitely got us all in the Christmas spirit!

We started our evening at The Brooklyn with appetizers and drinks.  The food was tasty!

Then we walked across the street to Benaroya Hall for the show.
Since no pictures were allowed during the performance, I snapped a few photos before the show started.

The lobby was all decorated for Christmas and we used the tree for a photo opp.

I also snuck in a weekly pregnancy photo.  I think it's fun to do them when your out and about doing your business vs taking them in the same spot in your house...

My dad was so proud that they were serving Starbuck coffee during intermission.  =]

We had a blast!  It was a great way to kick off the Christmas season!

Stay tuned for more Christmas fun!  I prepping posts full of holiday decor, ugly sweaters and vintage party fun!

Baby Dobson 2nd Trimester!

I suppose I should share some more deets about our little bundle arriving in March!

The biggest news is that we are expecting a BOY!  We found out the day before we left for our Californa babymoon.  It was so much fun knowing what we were having and were able to celebrate it on our vacation!

Here is our little bundle at 20 weeks!

Here is how we found out what we are having!! =]

We decided to keep most everyone in suspense and make a fun announcement via Facebook from Disneyland!

I have been horrible at taking belly photos!  I even neglected to take one over Thanksgiving weekend! =[

Here I am at 21 weeks...

22 weeks dressed up as Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian for Halloween...

26 weeks and decorating the house for Christmas!

I feel absolutely wonderful!  I don't really have any specific craving but I do love me some comfort food!  I can feel him move and it's the most wonderful feeling!  I am 26 weeks this week and feeling great! My goal is to get a TON of stuff done around the house in the next few months and I will be so happy when the house is all cleaned out, organized and ready for our little boy!

I also shared in this post what I would like to do with the baby nursery.  It's very eclectic but with a retro feel.

Welp, that's about it for the baby recap...  I can't believe how quickly it's going! I am so excited to meet our baby!

SUPER SCORE!!

This year being 6 months pregnant I decided to forgo the Black Friday madness I had participated in the past 2 years.  As I perused the ads I was pained at this vanity that was on sale for $99!!! Vanity base and top for $99!  Not to mention the perfect size, additional storage and is exactly what we have been looking for!!!

You can imagine my sadness when I went to the store on Saturday just to see if maybe I could get my hands on this great deal.  Having only the display left (that was already spoken for) I was able to physically see the wonderfulness of this piece.  It is even a perfect height for my tall hubby.

None were left and I was sad.

Now, lets fast forward to Cyber Monday!  I almost piddled my pantaloons when I saw this!

Then I saw this! There are 3 in stock in the home depot that is 5 minutes away from my work!

So I added two to my cart and for $215 I have two beautiful vanities that I get to bring home! This price is amazing! Even just a normal ol pedestal sink would have been at least $250 a piece.

Needless to say I am giddy with excitement and can't wait to get these babies set up! We will keep you posted!!! YIPPEE!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you all had a fantastic holiday, I know we sure did!

I started the long weekend off with a little craft that I wanted to share. I found this site on Pinterest that gives you access to print every letter, number etc and cut them into a cute bunting shape.

So I printed off G I V E  T H A N K S and glued them onto the backs of some paper bags I had lying around.  I punched two holes at the top of each and ran some fallish ribbon I had through and strung it up on the fire place. It's cheap (free) and cute!  I plan on making one for Christmas too!

Wednesday evening my in-law came into town and we celebrated a Thanksgiving brunch with them on Thursday morning.  Then Hubs and I went off to my dads home to spend it with a bunch of out of town family!

Here is my aunt Cindi, Sister-in-law Erica, me and my Bonus mom Donna!

Justin, Rick and Jeff watching football....

Erica, Alex, Papa and the boys..

My adorable niece and nephew Riley and Cale.

And  little happy Cashy!

Friday I hosted my 2nd annual Bridge Lighting Party.  I made my very first batch of chili and family came over to eat, visit and enjoy a small town celebration to the start of a new season!

The Sumner Bridge and Old Cannery all festive!

The Dobson 6... and a half :)

My Best Friend...

Mama, Sissy and I.

The rest of the weekend was spent getting my sewing machine running, putting up Christmas decor and relaxing with my two favorite furry boys!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I'm slowly working on getting all the decor up and we plan on getting our tree this weekend...
