Back to the Future

Okay so let us come back to the present time for one moment.  For the past two weeks, Justin and I have been painting the exterior of our home... what a chore!  Because there were about 70 years worth of paint on it, we had to sand, scrape and spackel before we could paint  the color we wanted!  Whew! Thanks to Dad and Donna for help on Saturday you guys are the bestest!

Without further adeu.....VOILA!

We chose to stay in the green color family but gave it a richer look with the olive green.  The garage door is open in this picture but we filled in the painted white squares with the new paint because I really wasn't a fan of that look. I love how the new color makes the white window and door trims pop!

We still have to finish painting the trim which will stay white and our plan is to sand down the red screen door and stain it to the natural wood to match the front door.  We would also like to add elevated flower beds and update our front door area with a larger landing area, new lighting fixture, new mailbox and maye some brick columns at some point.  One step at a time i guess...

Ooooh! Also notice the beautiful new chimney crowns done by Roger Dobson & Scott Diettert - thanks so much for your help!

We think our home is well on its way to be the cutest on the block!
